Simply teaching the Bible, simply

This study of 1 Peter 1:1-9 was given by pastor Barry Forder at Calvary Portsmouth on 28th June 2020.

In his introduction, Peter reminds those to whom he writes  – those who are dispersed in this world away from their home – that we have this great hope in the completed work of Jesus, that should fill our lives with an unspeakable joy, regardless of what trials and temptations we may face.

The assurance of our salvation, that fact that we are being sanctified, and the promise of our ultimate deliverance from this world, coupled with the fact that God ‘keeps us’ – as if putting a military guard around us – should not only fill us with peace and comfort but also cause us to overflow with gratitude out of a love for Jesus!
