Simply teaching the Bible, simply

In 2 Timothy chapter 2 Paul continues to encourage his ‘son in the faith’ to hold on and keep fighting the good fight.

All ministry can become a struggle, and there are times we feel like throwing the towel in and giving up! But Paul reminds Timothy that his source of strength is not his own flesh, it is not from within, but from without, it is from Jesus Christ Himself. It is only by the Grace of God that we are saved, it is only by that same grace that we are sanctified, and it is only by that Grace we can stand and continue on in ministry.

Yes Paul is not telling Timothy that this life is easy!

In this chapter, he uses the example of a soldier, an athlete, and farmer to illustrate the very real challenge that awaits us in ministry, yet with God’s grace we will be ‘more than conquerors’ through Christ who loved us!
