This is our Podcast. We're a Bible believing Church meeting at Barncroft Primary School, Havant, Hampshire, UK

This teaching is our 1st session in our verse-by-verse study of the Book of Lamentations by pastor Barry – given as part of our family service on 4th February 2018.
Lamentations – written by the prophet Jeremiah – recounts Jeremiah’s tears as he watched his beloved city, Jerusalem being destroyed by the army of Nebuchadnezzar in 587 B.C. This was the city that God had chosen to place His name in; it was the city of the great kings, David and Solomon. The book opens with the question “How?”. How could this happen?
The false prophets, who had been so outspoken in their condemnation of Jeremiah’s ‘doom and gloom’ prophecies, who instead had falsely prophesied ‘peace, peace’, were now bewildered that God could abandon them in their hour of need. Yet, as this chapter clearly describes, this tragic situation had been brought about because of the abhorrent sin committed within this great city. God was just and this judgment was justified. The real enemy is sin. It roots out, robs us, leaves us comfortless. It never satisfies, it never gives us the happiness and fulfillment it wants us to believe is can.
Jerusalem cries out ‘learn from my mistakes’!
