Chapter 20 7-15
This study, taught by pastor Barry Forder at our Sunday morning service on Sunday 3rd May 2016 is the 23rd in our verse-by-verse study through the book of Revelation.
In the second half of Chapter 20 we find three significant events:
Firstly we see Satan released from his prison to deceive the nations one last time. This will ultimately bring about his final defeat.
Secondly we witness the end of this order of things, as everything we currently know will be dissolved; all that we think about as ‘real’ will be gone in an instant.
That will lead on to the third, and without doubt one of the greatest events, not just in this chapter, but in all of time and space – Judgment Day! This is the day people speak of (usually without knowing anything about it) when all will stand before God and be judged.
There are many right now who think they will have a few things to say to ‘the Man upstairs’! Many who have said, “Well, if I were God…”. Needless to say, when actually standing before the God of the Universe, the Creator of all things, in all His majesty and glory, surrounded by a myriad angelic beings declaring His greatness, the scoffer, the fool and the simple person alike will be utterly speechless!
May this study encourage you and deepen your love for God and His Word!
To aid your personal study, the Powerpoint slides used in this teaching are available for download here, and a verse-by-verse text commentary of Revelation Chapter 20:7-15 is also available in the Pastor’s Blog section of this web site entitled: “The Great White Throne”
